I've a Honda 500es that seems to lose power when it heats up and the fan comes on. If I turn it off for a while and let it cool down it runs OK for a while and the same thing happens, has anybody come across this or any ideas what it could be,also can the power of the battery affect the running of a pump on a weedlicker. First time quad owner so unsure how these things work

Maybe dirt in the fuel line or filters.

Maybe, but wouldn't it be losing power all the time if that were the case

I have 3 Hondas with ES. You need a new battery.

If its loosing engine power when it gets hot it may be down on compression. What hours are up on the quad?

A compression test would be the first thing to do on it, what make/model is it?

On my Honda Foremans with ES, I would see the symptoms you are describing when the battery was low.
You are running a 12 volt accessory off the quads battery, and when the fan kicks in, you are pulling more.
In theory the alternator should be keeping up, but in reality it is not.

If you also are experiencing trouble in shifting gears with the buttons, this is a sure fire sign your battery is weak.

Give it a good over night charge (off the bike), disconnect your sprayer pump, and see if that helps.

I'd be incredibly surprised if you have poor compression on a Honda engine with so few hours on it.

I have a Honda 450 Foreman ES from 2002 that still runs like it was new.

It is unlikely that it is engine problem but I had a quad two years ago that needed a top end rebuild only after doing 250 hours!

Its sounds like its the battery,I'll give it a charge and see how that works
