DNA database.

    Its over a year since it was signed into law but as far as I'm aware the proposed DNA database is not yet operational.The conviction of Mark Nash for the Grangegorman murders largely through newly discovered DNA evidence has proven the importance of having such a resource available to the Gardai.Its ridiculous that Ireland remains the only EU country without one.

    It may have the effect of uncovering a number of miscarriages of justice. I think someone is making sure ducks are in rows.
