HI I have to go into hospital for treatment three times a week. I watch box sets to pass the time on a laptop and it is working out well, the time passes quickly. Over the past two months I've watched The Wire and I'm about to finish House of Cards series 2. I've watched Breaking Bad and Sopranos already. Has anyone any recommendations for when House of Cards is over because I know I will have severe withdrawal symptoms ☺

Lost. Really is the prime candidate for a box set of you plan on watching over a short period of time; cliffhangers galore; you'll always be wanting more.

The Shield, OZ or Prison Break are great shows. +1 for Lost too.
If you don't mind subtitles Lilyhammer.

Thanks for the tips, although I never really got into Lost when it initially came out. I'll probably try the Shield as I've heard good things

I'd highly recommend Broadchurch Series 1

Hope your hospital treatments are going well, wishing you speedy recovery

Scandal may help with House of Cards withdrawal and good luck with all your hospital treatments, hope you wouldn't be inside too long

justified, it only finished for good this week, 6 seasons (79 episodes), great show,

    chuck
is a bit more of an overlooked show, 5 seasons (91 episodes) finished up 2 years ago, brilliant show,

    24
for a great action show, 9 seasons (207 episodes), kinda goes up and down in quality over the seasons, but great entertainment non the less,

entourage, brilliant comedy/drama kinda mix, 8 seasons (96 episodes), theres a film out this year,

fringe, another great show, finnished a year or two ago, 5 seasons (100 episodes) season 1 is a bit procedural but far from bad, really kicks into gear in season 2,

the west wing, if you like your politic shows, this is an essential series to watch, 7 seasons (154 episodes), completely unrivaled, and my all time favorites show,

thats 6 great shows, all finished up and ready to watch all the way through,

To echo what previous posters have suggested:

    The Blacklist

24 (primarily the first two seasons)

    To add:

The Leftovers (very slow moving, but excellent IMO)

30 Rock (if you want comedy and you like Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey)

I'll add more as I think of them!

i would say 5 is by far the best, followed by 3 then 9 then 4, even the worst seasons are great marathon material,

Mad Men might be something you'd like if you haven't tried it.

Lost is a fun TV show for the first few seasons but it really sucks near the end imo. It's something that divides a lot of fans but just keep in mind that if you're going to invest a lot of time in it then you may end up disappointed.

If you're looking for a bit of comedy the first few series of Peep Show were good fun. Dunno if you've ever seen it. I stopped watching the recent ones personally.

If you like a bit of sci-fi then I'd recommend checking out a few episodes of The Twilight Zone (I mean the classic 60s version, not the later 90s version). You can find then up on Youtube and they're each only about twenty-five minutes long. Not sure if that's your cup of tea but I thought I'd throw it out there as a suggestion.

Best of luck with the hospital treatment. I hope it all goes well.
