Heading down to do the A4 race just looking at the profile map is it the same route as the A4 Ras Mhaigh Eo race but in the opposite dirrection?

I think its a bit shorter than the Ras Maigh Eo route - that was about 90k

ya but the first 10k was neutralized which brought it down to about 78k. Hopefully its on the same route enjoyed it bar the cross wind which blew the race apart near the end.

    Sorry for late reply.

Yes its a similar route but in reverse. Some parts are different but you come through Doolough Valley again.

How to turn A3 riders away from races like this. No handicap, and break is gone in the first 10k.

Only 57 riders signed on so organisers and commissaires decided to run it as A1/A2/A3 but A3 riders can only race max 120km (Cycling Ireland rule) and with the route being 127km, the race was neutralised for first 7k hence no handicaps.

Ah sure I didn't know they shortened it by 7k sure that made the world of difference. Don't know one other sports where you could be a beginner one week (A4) get upgraded and then be potentially racing against pros.

Not having a go at anyone, glad to have a race at least. Just needs to be looked at.

Whats wrong with the A1's doing a bit of up and overs for a few Km. Its not like they would never catch the A3's.
