Interesting read that, i dip sheep for hire and its very few that ask specifically for op dip now. If they do its nearly always the older generation that ask for it but i refuse to use it myself. Christ there's some reek of it.

Had to leave dipping one time due to headaches years ago, only time it happened to me and I don't know what caused it but often wondered about it. Was often as well dipped myself as any sheep.

Always remember dipping sheep in a big double dip years ago along with an annoying know it all neighbour when a big ram came straight between his legs followed by a big splash
You had to be there I supose

I suppose the more your exposed the bigger the risk of long term damage. One neighbour in his late 50's used to do alot of this work via farm releife schemes etc. Poor lad now has a bad dose of the "tremors" and rarely leaves the house these days:(

What are peoples opinions who use the non OP dip, when we dip hill sheep with it who are outside 365 we have problems with lice and the resultant water soaking they cause on the fleece, on a year like the one just gone it has big impact on their performance over the winter. Are people dipping more often with the non OP dip? And just to be clear the instructions are followed to the letter with clean water replenished etc. etc.
