Hello there. I'm aiming to apply to Hibernia College for the September intake. I have most of the boxes ticked bar the interview. What i dont have is any form of in class observation. Id like to do this of course, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Do I need Garda clearance? How long does it take to get this? I'm looking forward to getting in and seeing a teacher working with their class (admittedly they will probably be put right off by me in the corner) it will hopefully answer at least one or two questions i have. Only one or two mind you. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've worked really hard to get to the point where i could apply for Hibernia, I'm not letting up now :-)

Schools are very busy places, especially in the last term and have many requests for observation. Your best bet is to either approach the school you attended or the school closest to you.

Some teachers don't like other people observing them, so you need to take what you can get and not ask for a specific age group.

As you will not be left alone with the children , you do no need garda clearance.

    Best of luck.
