We purchased a car is 2009 with 29k on it.

A year later it had its service in 2010 (June).

We are selling the car this month and someone ran a motor check on it and it shows that there is a mieage discrepency between 2009 and 2010 of :

    2009: 28224
    2010:28050

The same dealer did the service.

So = clearly they logged an incorrect number here.

Problem is - we won't be able to sell the car. How do we go about getting this fixed?

Is the dealer responsible for this?

You get the dealer to amend the numbers on your service history and provide you with a headed letter stating that they made a typo error.

You then send this letter to the car check place that the buyer done the check with and they can make an official amendment seemly.

I had to do this a few years ago when selling my sisters E90. Sorted out quite easily from memory and the same guy that done the check, bought the car afterwards.

Thanks - the service book has the correct details in it but the online one doesnt so what you suggest should fix it hopefully.
