connecting waste pipe from washing machine

A picture paints a thousand words but I haven't got a clue how to upload them so I hope this makes sense. I've just connected up a new washing machine. I've connected the waste hose to the waste pipe under the kitchen sink. From looking on the internet, I think the waste pipe normally fits over an adaptor like here http://www.juliancassell.com/394/plumbing-in-a-dishwasher-or-washing-machine
There's no adaptor on the waste pipe under my sink so i just put the waste hose into the pipe. It fits nice and snug and tight and i ran a wash with no problems but is this a dodgy set up?

How is it secured there ??
In the tradition setup a jubilee clip is tightened around the hose preventing it blowing off and flooding the room. If yours is pushed in snug there is a chance it will work it's way out and cause a flood.

I wouldn't be happy with it.

Cheers, it's not secured just a tight fit. I'll try and get a hold of an adaptor so

    Would be best option.
You'd be shocked the volume of water it would pump out on a floor if it blew out.

It'll be grand. Just use some tape around both pipes to secure. The bulk of setups are similar to yours. Otherwise you'll have to purchase a new waste trap for the sink.
