Nintendo E3 Predictions

Just finished Iistening to IGN's latest nintendo podcast, with their predictions for E3. Everything from a new Retro Studios Metroid game, to a New Wii U (cheaper model + price drop), to a Zelda Dungeon Maker (like Mario Maker).

What are your predictions for E3? A sneaky Zelda trailer (surprise!)? More NX details (completely new system or backwards compatible)? New IPs or new games for existing IPs? Pokemon Amiibos (or Amiibo cards)?

I'd say zero mention of the NX. WiiU sales are hardly stellar so no point putting off potential buyers by making it sound like the WiiU is already obsolete. Next years E3 will be time for NX details.

There will be more Amiibos announced. Some cool ones in the usual limited quantities.

I'd like more concrete details of Mario Maker. How extensive are the creation and sharing tools? Any multiplayer like the current Mario games?

We'll see some Star Fox and possibly some Zelda. But with the latter delayed maybe they will hold off.

Whatever Retro Studios are working on will hopefully show up. Hopefully it's not more Donkey Kong. I'd also like to see a proper new title to continue the Galaxy series. Not more Galaxy but an iteration on the series.

Next home console to be called the WiiNu, just to further confuse the great unwashed.
A cheesey helmet to be included for VR purposes although rumour is some fanboys with poor personal hygiene already have had early access to a cheesey helmet.
They will forgo the big IP releases with WiiU Music and Billy Hatcher and the Giant Ulcer on the WiiU, with new 3DS software including Rise of the Robots 3D and Bubsy 3D HD.
They will also show footage of Legend of Link, in which Zelda will be engaged in Hyrule based speed dating and attempting to find her legendary hero from a legion of suitors, in a series of virtual singles bars in all your favourite Hyrule, Terminal and Koholint Island.

I would honestly be surprised if Zelda wasn't there at all. It's not going to be a focus or anything but the idea of a sneaky trailer doesn't seem out of the question.

The Wii U price drop is probably a safe bet. I think we'll get a Metroid announcement and we'll find out what's next for Mario. But here's my bold prediction: a Wii U main series Pokemon game. I'm looking forward to it anyway because I think they know they need to come out swinging after the last couple of months.

Probably a look at xenoblade for the wii U will be the main point, splatoon and maybe a new zelda for the 3ds? I doubt it tho, but seeing how grezzo developed majoras mask, leaving nintendo free to work on other projects, there may be a chance. Also would love a new Ace atorney game.

HOPEFULLY something with Zelda, just to give us an idea of the direction it's going. Don't picture there being any new 3DS Zelda game, as we've already had Link Between Worlds and Majora's Mask in the last short while.

Metroid would be a dream come true, but I'd also like to see what Retro can do by themselves too, maybe a new IP?

Starfox will probably be there, and playable.

Since they skipped the 25th anniversary while doing Zelda and Mario, do you think we'll get a Metroid 30th anniversary surprise?

And hearing IGN mention Mario Maker, I was thinking they have some kind of crossbuy with it so you get a code for a 3DS download that lets you download an app for the 3DS that lets you play your levels and other uploaded levels on it.

I can't shake the feeling that they'll combine 2 of their most popular and broadly appealing titles into one title to rule them all. Wii Fit Pokemon Trainer. Using the the balance board and a new Trainer belt with resistance-band-attached Pokeballs, bend, stretch and Tai Bo your way to a better body and mastery over all 721 pokemon. And with the new 5Kg Pikachu wifi backpack, take your training everywhere you go, building cardiovascular fitness and friendships as you exchange pokemon and recipes for fat and sugar free muffins by the backpack's built in Streetpass function.

The 3DS will join my favourite consoles of all time if they add a metroid game. Cos we're starved of metroid right now, 3DS needs a swan song, etc.

I formally give up on Xenoblade it has the Majora effect on me damn migraine bull ****. Might sell my New 3DS as I can't play the best two games on it.

"(cheaper model + price drop)" isn't that like saying a Wii U can play both Wii U games AND Wii U games?

I think e3 will be about DLC and showing gameplay, very few announcements.

Probably fire emblem-esque.
