I have a 50/90 grant kabinpak boiler which is leaking,
First i will try to fix by weld so need to disconnect and remove, but still want to use my immersion for hot water, so have to keep tank in loft full, can i cap of water inlet pipe going to boiler if so what do i need ? (see photo).

So if weld fails need new boiler,

    Been quoted,
    Warmfow condenser boiler 50/90 €1050
Grant vortex condenser boiler 50/90 €1250
€200 in difference, Grant worth extra €200 ?

Also how much would i expect to pay for Plumber to install?
    Thks

There really is not enough information in the photograph for anyone to give you a ball park figure, except to say that the qualpex is way too close to the boiler and the fuel line may need to be moved to accommodate the installation of a remote acting fire valve.
Then flue and condensate drainage has to be considered.
Take some more pictures from further back to give a better view of your boiler and it's location.

Grant boiler install including powerflush is roughly 2500-3000

I had one done about 6/7 years ago. Still fine. Welder will know if large area weakened or just one spot. Get a professions to weld it. Not just a handyman.
Clean out boiler well before welding. Power flush system. Will need power flushing for new install either way. Add inhibitor. PS repair any leaks now when you have it drained down. Also add any TRV's or other controls now that you have the opertunity.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"
