NCT Query

    Hi All,

Sorry if I have posted in the wrong section but I have a query on an NCT appointment.

Basically I tried to make a booking on the NCTS website on 24th March, the best date available was sometime in June. I selected the option to be put on a cancellation list. Fast forward today 17/04/2015 and I receive an email to confirm my booking for June 21st. The date I have confirmed by NCTS is almost 3 months away from when I first contacted them.

Am I entitled to a free test as per the 28 day/4 week rule they are advertising and listed in their terms and conditions? I called NCTS today and asked the very question and was told to put all the info in an email so just thought before I went to the trouble of all that to ask here first :D

    Thanks

    As per their guidelines:

"Ensure that the average lead time for an appointment at an individual test centre is less than three weeks and no greater than four weeks. The customer will be provided with a test free of charge where an appointment cannot be offered within a four week period provided that:
    • The Customer has not declined a test appointment (either confirmed or provisional) more than twice, at a centre of their choosing, for the test due at this time

    • The Customer has not previously accepted a booking outside of the 4 week period."

In order to get a free test you need to ring the NCTS and ask them for the next available date if they can't offer you one within 28 days then you get a free one but you cannot accept a date online. They will most likely offer to put you on a cancellation list but as above you can't refuse more than 2.
