Just preparing to change a clutch, looking at the manuals (both manufacturer and Haynes) it seems that the torque value for the pressure plate bolts is pretty low - 19Nm.

Should I loctite the bolts when refitting?

    car is mk1 avensis 1.6.

Never threadlock clutch-plate or flywheel bolts. Never overtorque them either. 14 ft./lb. sounds about right for a pressure-plate bolt, IIRC the 3l Jag S-Type ones are rated at 17. Bear in mind there are a few of them.

My gsxr plate is only 10nm. 5 bolts.

And that red lines at 16k revs
