Hi I'm wondering is there a list of cycling clubs and their jerseys.

Is this to form the basis of a complaint?

spin11 supply a lot of clubs and have a gallery on their site

    http://spin11.com/gallery/

No idea where you'd get a definitive list

So what if it is, it's kinda damming that the first reply is so defensive.

I know one of the local clubs but I saw a group this evening in jerseys that I didn't recognise.

    Thanks for that gallery!

I'm not defending anyone. I am wondering why you want to know. Call it curiosity. I'm guessing it is for a complaint based on your previous posts in the cycling forum.

So before you thought about giving a genuine answer you checked out my 2 past posts in cycling, one where I gave a description of what happened at a race event and another about an incident that in hindsight i'm not sure we were talking about the same incident.

There are some decent(well mannered etc) cyclists out there...

    No I haven't

And you haven't added anything positive to this thread either

When I saw your question with no context I got curious.

    Well that escalated quickly.

OP if you describe the club gear and location someone will no doubt be able to tell you.

What is the issue out of curiosity?

There should be a place to complain about Cycling Club Jerseys. Some of them are an affront to the senses.

Surely it isn't too hard to investigate what clubs are relatively close to the area. Clubs don't venture too far on spins during the weekday evenings. Also curious as to where this is going with the OP.

Hope the OP isn't looking to report me...I was wearing world champion stripes on my jersey today despite my career best result being 45th in a CX B race

They were black and red, gathered at <snip> blocking it, not enough to get worked up but after a long days work and a long drive home i didn't want to have to deal with was ... blocking the road home.

I was hoping to get enough info here that I could find the right club and have a quiet word with them.

Yes they are likely to be local but as you know <snip> is a popular spot so god knows where they came from

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,318 ✭✭✭✭Raam

I actually know which club it is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,373 ✭✭✭iwillhtfu

I don't actually know the area to be honest.

In what way we're they blocking it?

Is it just a case of a narrow lane and unfortunately you happened to get stuck behind a number of cyclists or were they preventing you from driving up the road?

To look at it another way replace number of cyclists with tractor would you have been equally as blocked?

Nah, I ain't gonna say. The OP wasn't honest when challenged initially so he can figure it out himself.

no because it was down at the roundabout where there is a path and all that they can stand on, they were standing around seemingly having a chat. I have no problem driving behind cyclists until it is safe to overtake

I'd probably know the tractor driver...:D

I know what club it is too.

I assume it happened this evening? As far as I know there was an annual club event taking place tonight and they won't be in your way again this year.

Votes don't matter, facts do. I'm not a member.

Dishonest was the wrong word. Not forthcoming would be a better term.

The last time I climbed that theatre of pain I was blocked on the steepest part by two van drivers stopped having a chat. It spoiled my already pathetic rhythm and I had to unclip and wait until they decided to finish up. Not easy getting clipped in again when it 20%.

I should have got on the net and enquired about a list of builder's van liveries so that I can identify them and have a quiet word with them......

I've gotten plenty of abuse from cyclists for simply driving my road home.
I had hoped that I'd get pointed in the right direction without getting lost in the endless hole that is google but it turns out that cyclists(the ones here anyway) are as much a pile of self-centred gits as their reputation

You're not by any chance the chap who ran towards me on Kilmashogue Lane a few years ago weilding the largest wrench I have even seen?

I was just suffering quietly and minding my own business at the time. :(
