Hi I'm a bit confused as to what to say when they ask what does dynamic mean.

Is the answer that it goes in both forwards and backwards directions?

I know that chemical equilibrium is a state of dynamic balance where the rate of the forward reaction equals the rate of the reverse reaction. But after asking this they normally ask what dynamic means.

    What do I say?

Equilibrium is said to be dynamic because the forward and reverse reactions are continuously occurring.
