    Hello folks does anyone know what notice you have to give your employer if you want to leave your job ive been in my job 13 months some one has told me from 13 weeks to 2 years you only have to give 1 weeks notice is this true

    I think it is based on when/how you get paid.
    If you get paid by the month then a month's notice is required
    If you get paid by the week then a week's notice

    I would guess that it is stated in your contract.

    yes it says something put staff in work are saying that some people have gone after 2 weeks but some have gone after a month i asked my HR Manager and she wasnt sure so i get paid fortnightly so i would say 2 weeks notice

    It could be that they used holiday leave.

    Usually in contract. Industry practice seems to be < 6m is 5days < 2yrs is 28 days. Above that can vary up to max of3 months
