Zoning, valves and bypass

    Hi all.

    Two queries if I may?

Have a set up with oil central heating. 3 zones + hotwater tank each with their own timer/stat, 4 valves total. Works nicely.

Now, the feed from the boiler goes to one rad first and then is T-ed off for the zones and HW tank, so that one rad is on whenever the burner is called.

I find that this rad gets alot of air so my query is, should I put in a pressure reslease valve across the feeds from the oil burner, so that if for whatever reason that one rad blocked up, the valve would save the pump or am I being over cautious?

Second, the oil tank is fuppin miles from the burner, and takes an age to bleed. Is there anything I can put in to facilitate bleeding the oil line?

    Mucho thanks.

Install a tiger loop and you'll never need to bleed the oil line again.
Take out the rad that always heats and put in an auto bypass valve. Get the zones interlocked to the boiler if possible

Thanks Dtp, will look into the tiger loop, if it does what it says on the tin I'll be delighted. Have the zones interlocked, so I just need to add an auto bypass and I should be good to go.

    Thanks again.
