I'm the jealous friend

So I started college in September and I've made a whole lot of new friends and I'd be particularly close to one girl but lately I feel like we've drifted apart a bit and I get really jealous whenever shes with or even talks to other friends. I've never actually said anything because I know its so stupid but I don't know how to stop these feelings. I know I'm being really controlling and irrational but I really don't know what I can do to stop feeling so jealous and insecure all the time. Any suggestions?

Hi OP. I haven't been jealous of friends but I've been jealous a few times with partners and I understand the feeling of irrationality though the feeling to you is very real. What helped me was getting to the root of why I felt jealous. Mine stemmed from not feeling all that great about where I was in my life and comparing myself to others, so once I got on top of that, it was sorted.

Why do YOU think you feel that way?

Be contented with what she can offer you.
