Hi, I'm looking at 2012 Audi A6. The UK imports have full colour SAt Nav, the Irish cars do not have this. I'm wondering is it worth going for the Sat Nav or is it rubbish for Irish roads anyway? Anybody have any experience of this? Thks

The Map data will likely cover all of Western Europe, including Ireland, so it will be decent enough. Being 2012, it won't be as bang up to date as Google maps but it'll be adequate. You can update the maps on them too... for a price...

Audi uses the same sat nav software and maps as VW, Skoda, etc. I had a UK imported 2011 Passat CC with Sat Nav and it worked fine here. Maps were a bit outdated but not a huge inconvenience. I think UK cars only come with UK/Ireland maps afaik unless it is the more expensive higher spec version with the built in hard drive.

Just bought an Irish 2011 A6 and it has the Sat Nav. From what I can see on the Sat nav it has all of UK etc on it as well. So I would say the UK models are the same.

I did look at a few UK A6/A4 with the Sat Nav and all of them had Irish maps on them, took a few for test drives around Dublin and had all roads etc

The only issue as mentioned in the A6 I have is the maps have not been updated(so on the M3 it has you driving in fields etc).

From the websites I have checked you can buy maps updates but not 100% sure if you can just buy update and install or if you need to go to Audi dealer to get installed. The Audi dealer route is very expensive. Some website suggest you can do yourself and other says if you do yourself the system will lock down
