Just my car failed on one tyre, just wondering if i can switch it back to front and go to retest, or they will check them all again ?

It really just depends on the tester. Happened me before, and rather than risk it, I bought a new tyre. Of course, the tester literally glanced at that one wheel, and passed it. But I can pretty much guarantee that if I'd decided to just chance swapping the wheels around, I'd have gotten someone who checked all four.

Here's a novel idea: buy a new tyre and don't be putting yourself, and more importantly, others in danger.

Somehow I feel this is not just a theoretical question? Is it really your aim to make your car with a dodgy tyre pass?

If money is that tight, either stop driving or at the very least get a part worn tyre from a reliable source (€25-€50 fitted depending on size of tyre)

Ya see. This is exactly why the lads in the test centres have to sooo anal on every detail on tests.
There's always some chancre looking to dodge the system and bring an unsafe car onto the roads.
OP, what do you think gives you the right to cheat the system and bring a potentially unsafe car onto the roads.

This attitude is nothing short of sickening !

Switch away and try and save yourself a few quid.

Turn it inside out. It'll be like a new tyre.

Maybe so but it's like saying you'll fix three brakes and hope to get bye without the fourth.
