Hi all. 18 handicapper here playing golf (very sporadically) for 7/8 years. Recently started playing pitch and putt mainly for handiness and had an injury which kept me off the golf course for a year. One thing I've noticed in the last month or two is (although I've dropped a shot or two handicap wise ) I don't think I'm getting enough spin on the ball. Can generate decent amount from green side and don't struggle here but tee shots too often not checking up enough . Have tried variety of balls and tweaks in swing which have had varied results . Using a 52 degree Vokey with normal grooves .

I was wondering would it be worth investing in a new wedge and if so what would people recommend? I generally don't have this problem on a golf course hitting full balls. Perhaps use a loftier club? Milled wedges ? The 52 is great around greens. Anyway if there are any experts out there any advice I'd take it happily! If people think it's likely a swing issue then fair enough too but would like some advice on wedges!
    Cheers!

Post a pic of your wedge, how old is it, and are the grooves intact/clean?

For pitch and putt most people use commando balls. They are really soft and stop dead on the green.

Pitch and putt clubs also use those rubber tees and rubber mats and as a result, there just isn't the same reaction as you get from club on turf. It's probably why you're getting spin around the greens with your chipping and not with your tee shots. Could be teeing up the ball too high too as a result of the rubber mats
