    Not sure when they made the change but i think the cheap easy to replace fridge door switch was done away with by VAG. So now it's part of the whole door lock. It's the reason most car keys get locked inside VAG cars IMHO anyway...

    The part I think I need to replace is the part the guy in this video is replacing and it seems handy enough to replace and does not seem to be connected to the key system so I'm wondering why then it's a dealer only part and also why I can get the part pn eBay?

    Id get one from a breakers if its a handy job and your diying it. Should be only 30 quid.

    ya but i just want to confirm its not a dealer only part and does not have anything to do with reprogramming keys etc...
