    Hi,

I am currently doing some consultancy work. Until last month I was an employee, and I will be again when I start a new job at the start of June but in the intervening period I am doing some consultancy work.

Do I need to complete a Form TR1 for this - I am not setting up a business it is consultancy work for one client, so I don't know if a TR1 is necessary or will it enough to file a Form 11 in advance of next October? I will only be doing the consultancy for a seven or eight week period and my earnings will be in the range of €5-6,000 in total.

    Advice is greatly appreciated.

If your income is over 3174 after expenses, then you are considered self assessed for tax purposes, and will need to complete both the TR1 and Form 11
