Good evening all. I have some problem associated with ferric chloride and salicylic acid complex. Ferric chloride forms complex with salicylic acid, which absorbs at 520nm. This should be basis for quantification of my salicylic acid in aspirin by flow injection analysis. However, I found out that ferric chloride also absorbs at this wavelength. Wanted to make ferric chloride as blank, but I found out, that ferric chloride solution changes colour and concentration very quickly, so my results can't be consistent. Any help? thx a lot for any help...
