After missing out on the Argentina BA I've learned my lesson. Just buy it and then tell the wife, if she wants the come with me then fine.

I need a one way flight to LA the first week in June. I'll have very little luggage so a carry on should suffice. This should work out well. Cheap flight to London and then just jump off at LA.

If you don't live in London (and thus can't go to the Victoria store) you have to be one of the lucky 40 people who get through on the phone at 10am on Thursday.

outbound flight has to be before May 27th.

The only reason I shared this at all is because I have work commitments until the second week of june. :o

I'm sure when you clicked the link you noticed this part:

    HOW TO GET YOUR TICKET...

    1. Join the queue at STA Travel Victoria to get one of 50 tickets available for sale there at 9am on 16th April
    2. Number 51+ in the queue? You can still enter the raffle to win one of 3 golden tickets at STA Travel Victoria at 9am on 16th April
    3. Call STA Travel on 0333 321 3085 from 10am on 16th April to get one of 40 tickets available

40 Tickets available by calling them directly on the say, This was on HUKD yesterday, so best of luck trying to get through to them.
Good luck to any boardsie thats gonna try :)

Try making a phone call, if you get through happy days, if not you lose nothing besides a few cents for a phone call.

You may not be able to call a +44333 number on most mobile packages here due to the very odd revenue arrangements they have (they're standard rate but have a deal with UK operators to consider them local calls rather than charging full "standard rate" which is usually very high).

Rang the number using Voip Cheap, no problem, recorded message about the sale.

So, it is essentially a competition?

Cheap way of raising the profile of the company, essentially free publicity and advertising, something straight out of the book of a certain Irish lowcost airline :D. I wonder if the £75 is just the base fare and then the taxes and charges raise it up to something more normal like £500 - £700, imagine queuing outside the store all night to end up getting hit with the taxes then.

Given theres thousands of Kiwis living in the UK at any given time and there's only 40 tickets available then its basically a competition. Still be great to win it though :D

Have free UK landline calls from Vodafone @ Home and that includes +443 numbers. I imagine no matter what operator you call from, you will be charged as for a UK landline.

I do love these non achievable bargain alerts that come around every so often.

Thousands of Kiwis in Ireland too although in NZ, they rarely distinguish between UK and Ireland.

    That goes down well .

10 minutes on 2 phones.. on one line the message said please hold blablabla, and then dropped the line.
on the other one, the machine recorded my name and my number, said they will call back, and then dropped the line.

I was actually lucky enough to get through this morning @ 10.02am, The girl on the other end of the phone took my details etc, Dates and Flight times also both email address and ph no. I confirmed with her that it was the 75th Anniversary flight offer I was looking for, all appeared good, she said she would be back in touch shortly, via email, to confirm payment and details, Heard nothing up until lunchtime...decided to then ring them back...got the usual "The computer says no" however they had other offers If I wished to avail of them, all in and around 700e...Bottom line, they didn't honour the offer...a bit of a cheap trick...

Im guessing they held some kinda of lotto then put your name into a hat if its real.

I booked with them from LHR to NYC a few years ago the offer was book economy with BA and 1/4 would be upgraded to world traveler plus. Needless to say I wasn't nor was my friend :( A cheap trick like this one

Actually jjbrien, I didn't suspect anything untoward..the girl on the phone seemed genuine enough...took my details, dates and stopover details..Delighted, I thought I had them...however when I didn't hear back from them, I rang at lunchtime, to be told, they had tried to contact me by email to inform me that the flights were all gone,I never received any such email... by which time they were able to offer me alternative flights with Etihad Airways, and not Air New Zealand, again based on my original travel dates at 700e per person...not a bad price...that said not £75 either...I'm none the wiser

Id say anyone who went there in person got them. Would love to see if someone actually got one.
