I'm currently doing a PLC in Journalism in Ballyfermot with the hope of using my FETAC grades to go into Journalism in DCU but with only two weeks left and a lot of assignments to do I don't know if i'll make the cut! My second option would be CCS as i've got the points and was offered it last year but decided to decline in hopes for Journalism.

Do any past or present students have anything positive to say about the course and are there any employment opportunities once you graduate? It seems like a really interesting theory based course but that really isn't enough to fully convince me, are there any practical modules on offer?

For what it's worth, I worked on group assignments with people who studied CCS and they all said they'd have to do a masters in a specialism afterwards to actually get any use out of the degree. It does seem like an enjoyable and interesting course, though.

I would plan on doing a masters somewhere down the line after the course as you really do need one to get anywhere in this country! My long term plan really isn't cemented yet and i'm hoping maybe this course could give me a niche to specialise in.
