Hi getting my own car as I need to get myself to and from work. Have been a named driver on my parents insurance for the last 4 years and have full licence 4 years as well.
I'm buying a car off a dealer and not a private seller as its the safest option and the car is under warranty. I have my eye on a peaugout 206 1.1 lr 2005 for 2500, which is an affordable price.

Is this a good first car and cheap on tax\insurance ? Any advice would be great.

Any warranty in a €2500 car is likely to be pretty useless. Better to spend the dealers margin on a mechanic to vet a private sale.

Don't expect much in the way of warranty on a 10 year old €2500 car from a dealer. There just is not a big enough profit in it for a dealer to offer much more than the bare minimum on a car of that age and value. You should still have it checked over by a mechanic.

Have you driven it yet? The pedals on the 206 are very close to each other and can make driving it uncomfortable so make sure you are happy with the driving position.
