Do I need 2 higher level LC subjects to progress from a PLC?

Alright, this is the question I'm asking. I'm currently doing only 6 subjects, 1 is foundation, which is Irish, any CAO course I applied for requires a minimum of 6 passes in ordinary level or higher, so any chance of getting into any course I applied for on my CAO is gone since I dropped down to foundation Irish. Leaving the 2 PLC courses I have a conditional place in, which requires 5 passes. One of my higher level subjects I failed in the mocks, but just barely, I got 36%, I was considering dropping it down, as I'm no longer concerned with points since my CAO courses are no longer an option, my PLC courses require 5 passes, but they can all be ordinary level. The subject I failed is Business Studies, which I'm very confident I could get a decent pass in ordinary level, and most likely a pass in higher, but I feel it would be threading a fine line.
I was told that if I aim to progress from a PLC to a degree, most colleges will still want me to have 2 higher level subjects in my leaving cert from the previous year, I was under the impression that they only consider your results in the PLC course and not the leaving cert, has anyone got any insight on this?

It depends on the college and the course. You have to do a bit of research
