Hi have a budget of about €3k and looking for a petrol hatchback, ideally with a bit of power for when its needed. Any advice on what models to look at in this price range? Thanks

Go for a Toyota Corolla. There are 2002 - 2004 models going for the 3000 mark. If you get a good one, you could get another 10 years out of it, as there are ones from the early to mid 90's still going round. There is even a 74 and an 89 Corolla for sale on carzone. Be careful about getting a 2002 model, as the older model was still being made that year, and are not as strong. You might see one for a little over 3000 but offer them 3000 cash, and see what you say. Finally be sure to take your time and find a really good one. Best of luck.
