Do you know that in most commercial prawn farms they remove the eye of the female shrimp so as to improve reproduction.
use of eyestalk ablation increases total egg production and increases the percentage of females in a given population that will participate in reproduction. Once females have been subjected to eyestalk ablation, complete ovarian development often ensues within as little as 3 to 10 days.

Yes i know its just an ol'shrimp but it sounds very cruel don't you think??

Don't eat Prawns so I don't contribute to this cycloptic Prawn population.

I thought this was a euphemism, like one eyed snake.

So the farmers blind the female prawns because they won't reproduce in prison?
