    Hi

Hope I'm in the right place. I've a court date tomorrow. It is just re mortgage problems. I got the summons and I appeared at the original hearing. It was adjourned the last time because I was working with the bank and have been doing so since. I received a letter from ever sheds ( the collection agency) informing me that at tomorrow's court it will be adjourned again as there is no need for any further action at the moment. All I really need to know is do I need to appear in court tomorrow when I know it will be adjurned. I could really do with not having to take the time off. Thanks for any advice

    Marianne

Thank you for replying. I actually rang eversheds to confirm. And at the case tomorrow no doubt it will be adjurned as they will just monitor my progress with the arrears. What I need to know is if I still need to turn up in the court for when they read out my name and case number (as there will be loads of morgage arrears cases). I asked evershedsand on the phone but she genuinely could not tell me whether this was ok or not as it would be like giving me legal advice. It's only because I already know it will be adjurned and I would love to not have to take an afternoon off.

Legal advice is not allowed on this forum. But hypothetically speaking if someone wrote to a solicitors' firm (letter or email) noting the collection agency's proposal to adjourn the matter on consent because of ongoing progress, and the fact that the person writing the letter agreed to the adjournment, then that would have to be brought to the attention of the court even if the person who wrote the letter wasn't there, eg because they were in work (though it would be a good idea for the person who wasn't there to mention that reason in their letter to the collection agency).
