Looking to get a 7 seater in the next couple of months. Have about 14-15k to spend and don't want to go any lower than a 2011. I don't know which make to go for.
Have looked at a grand scenic, grand Picasso and opel Zafira but havn't a clue which would be best. Any advise appreciated.

If I was looking for a 7 seater with that money to spend it would be S-Max all day long for me...

You're not going to find a decent 2011 or newer S Max in that price range. We had the same plan last year but after driving a few more affordable alternatives (Grand Scenic, Picasa etc) we upped the budget and bought a good S Max.

Nissan Qashqai plus 2, full leather, you will get one from the UK for what your looking to spend, heading over to UK myself in the next few weeks to get one, how much it kills me to get a 7 seater as I love my cars, I have an A6 but after making a deal with the wife I'm also going to be getting a crew cab in from the UK. The Qashqai hold there value very well and are a nice machine, 4 wheel drive as well.

Wouldn't know where to start looking in the UK. With the exchange rate at the moment are there still bargains to be got over there. What site would you recommend looking at?
Would love an smax but don't think we can stretch to that. Best price I can find for a 2011 model is 18k+..

    Why the fixation with 2011?

You can't see the number plate from the driver's seat and I would rather sit in an S-Max every day than a Picasso or Zafira....

OP, do you need boot space as well as seats? If so then you will need to look at a full size 7 seater as opposed to the smaller 7 seaters where the 3rd row of seats take up alot of the boot space.

Autotrader.co.uk, eBay, Gumtree UK, tbh it there would not be a whole pile of difference between the price from the UK after the exchange rate and vrt but there cars are way higher spec and you could get one with lower milage which could be worth an extra years driving. You could be over and back in the one day for about €300 quid

Don't really need boot space and seven seats. Need space for 3 car seats and will only need the extra seats on occasion.

Anything over 2011 tends to gave very high milage will need timing belt done etc. I intend to have this car for many years. So thought the newer the better. Could only afford a 09 smax.

Getting a timing belt changed is nothing to fear or avoid. It's part of car maintenance and ownership say way as having to replace tyres or do the NCT.
