You need a minimum three weeks in Thailand as a tourist or backpacker, perhaps it might suit a business person who needed a shorter stay perhaps.

I disagree. few days in Bangkok and a few days on the beach and back to Ireland. Would be a nice holiday for a lot of people and the cost of accom is stupidly cheap.

Yes, that's the negative of it. Besides that though, these are €320 flights to one of the most beautiful countries on earth on board one of the worlds very few 5 star airlines on an aircraft with a seat pitch of 34" in economy (As good as it gets practically).

I've traveled on the Malaysia Airlines 777 & A380 a couple of years ago and it is a great economy class. To anyone who doesn't let the fact that this is Malaysia airlines bother them (And lets face it, MH17 was no "accident", and MH370 was likely not the airlines fault either), this is a great bargain.

You do realize it is close to a 17 hour journey including stopovers crossing several timezones? I've been to South East Asia myself five times and I am fairly well wrecked on the second day (takes a few days to fully adjust) and it takes a day to get there and back. Also Thailand isn't as cheap as it was before and with 34THB to €1.00 this is something to consider also. Phuket is pretty expensive and with the weak Euro this will only have gotten worse now. For a few days you'd effectively spend half the holiday on a plane and travelling.... my very definition of a nightmare from hell.

I live between Ireland and Asia, I travel over and back several times a year and travel throught South and South East Asia. Maybe I'm just used to flying.

You'd have to get another flight to from Bangkok as if you didn't board the flight from KL to BK your ticket will be cancled.
You can get air asia flights from BK to KL cheaper than you can get ryan air flights from Dublin to Europe though.

Jaysus, Ryanair is only a 2 Star??
The chance of dying on a flight with an airline in the top half of the global safety table is 1 in 19.8 million; in the bottom half, it's 1 in 2 million.

Skytrax rankings only measure the level of service pretty much. Despite what the media says, Ryanair are one of the safest airlines you could travel with. Same with Malaysian really, none of the accidents were really due to their negligence.
