I'm doing my theory test in the next two weeks. I'm just wondering from anyone who recently took it like the last 6 months or so - have you any tips for me?
I know j need my passport as ID but what else should I bring with me?
I know they take photos there so I don't need any. But is there anything else I should bring that they need ?
    Thanks everyone :)

Are you referring to the theory test required to get a learner's permit?

If so, this is not the correct forum and I will move your question to the Learning to Drive forum

Please don't tell posters to post the same question in another forum as that can lead to duplicate threads and clean up from the mods. Instead use the Report Post function to let a moderator know that a thread should be moved.

You do need to bring passport photos with you to do the theory test. If you pass, your photo will be attached to your pass certificate and laminated. (The photos are attached to your pass certificate in a tamper proof manner, to prevent people fraudulently sitting the theory test for others.) You then bring this pass certificate into your local NDLS centre to apply for your learner permit. You don't need to bring passport photos when you apply for your learner permit, as they will take your photo at the ndls center. You do need to bring them to your theory test.

I thought you didn't need them with you at all as they took them there and then ?

They take the photos there and then when you're getting the actual learner permit in the NDLS center.

For the theory test, you'll need to bring your own photos.

Sitting the theory test and the applying for a leaner permit are two completely different things and are done in two different sets of buildings, with two different sets of staff. They are not done by the same people in the same building.

You must bring 2 identical passport photos to the theory test office. You do not need to bring them to apply for your learner permit at the NDLS centre, as they will take them for you there.

The photos that you bring to the theory test, serve no purpose other than to be laminated onto your pass certificate. This is so that the staff in the NDLS centre can see that the person who is applying for a learner permit, is the same person who recently passed their theory test & is not fraudulently using someone elses pass certificate. They do not use these photos for your actual learner permit. The photos for your learner permit, will be taken at the NDLC centre using a special camera, that embeds your photo onto the learner permit in a tamper proof manner.
