UPC problems

    Hello,

    Each day after 19:30 - 20:00 it seems that eighter they limit speed somehow or they have too many customers on the current infrastructure.
    I live in Dublin, Fairview and each day it's the same - everything seems to be ok until 19:00 - 19:30 then the speed drops from ~ 40 Mbps to 5-10 Mbps (did the test on speedtest.upc.ie). Also, probably because the speed is so slow, the latency to google public dns servers - 8.8.8.8 gets up from 10-15ms to over 100ms. I contacted UPC technical support and same thing every time like it matters - what pc do you have; what network card; how it is configured etc. I told them that the problem only happens after a certain time, they don't care, it MUST be my pc; it gets angry and doesn't want to deliver the same speed as before after a certain time. Also, they say we are going to send a technician at your place - what he will see if he gets here early in the morning when everything is ok?!?!? Oh and they send a replacement modem, but we still have the same problem, but i guess they don't communicate with eachother. Only clueless people work there?
    I am really tired of UPC.

    Are you using wireless? This sounds like wireless congestion.
