Am considering going to a alpine mountain resort in July with OH. anyone recommend a good place easy enough to get from airport by public transport.
    TIA

edit: on second thoughts doesnt have to be alpine. maybe Andorra mountain resort?

You can fly to Munich or Salzburg and get by public transport direct to many resorts in Austria. Zell am See, Mayrhofen, Kitzbuhel, St Johann, St Anton am Arlberg. Alternatively you can fly to Zurich and get to the same resorts from the west, but you get to come over the Arlberg Pass which is hard to beat (in my experience) on the scenic train ride front.

Munich has a u-bahn station in the airprt, Zurich has a train station in the airport, Salzburg requires a bus or taxi to get to the train.

Slight correction on the wording - when I said "direct" I meant right into middle of the town/resort, but most routings will require a change of train or u-bahn somewhere along the way. Most of the trains from Munich go North-South, and you need to change in Worgl to get to most of the resorts. From Zurich it's West-East and you literally can get direct into towns up the alps.

Have a look at bahn.de and enter in Munich as a starting point and some of the resorts above for a destination and that will give you an idea of the routings. Also, when you see a train number on bahn.de click on it and you will see the entire routing it takes - you might find some other resorts of interest.
