New clutch loose

    Hi, I got a new clutch put in yesterday and find it really loose. It is changing gears fine but the old clutch was not loose. Should it be loose if it was just put in?

    Do you mean the pedal is lighter to use? If so, that's normal, one of the nice bonuses of getting a nice new clutch.

    Yes the pedal goes down quickly. Only went for a short journey just in case. Feel completly different than the last one. Hope its ok. Thanks for reply

    All it means is that the old one was totally fupped. You'll get used to it in a few days

    A neighbour got the clutch done in his polo because the release bearing was in trouble. The clutch was completely different , he thought there was a problem with it until he tried my golf.
    It turned out for the 4 years he owned it , it was never right
