New Mondeo or New Passat

Am trading in my 2004 Audi A4 with 165k miles and its down to either a Passat or Mondeo.

The PCP finance quotes are similar with one significant difference:
In 3 years time the Ford option restricts me to going back to the same Ford garage if I want to trade up. Traps me to same Dealer to an extent.
The VW PCP option means I can go to any VW garage to trade up.

I drove the 1.6 Mondeo today and it felt a bit sluggish on the road I thought.
I will be driving the Passat during the week. Its 120bp so close in power to the Mondeo.

Looking for ideas to help me decide. My heart says Ford but my head says Passat due to its plusher refined interior. But I like the blue oval as a brand.
The kids will wear the interior over next 3 years so and my mileage is very low at the moment as I take public transport to work.
I would intend to keep the car at the end of the PCP 3 year term and refinance it for another 3 years so I will be selling in 6 years so residual values on both wont be a huge issue I am thinking.

    What to do??

I would be the opposite, I'd prefer the VW brand over the blue oval. And I'd prefer the interior of the Passat too.

Mondeos tend to date quickly I think.

But perhaps go for what you get the best deal on. €500 might sway me for similar spec and power.

Might be worth noting that the 1.6 TDCi 115bhp engine in the Mondeo is being replaced later this year by an all new 1.5 TDCi with 120bhp.

Personally unless you are going for a Titanium Mondeo then I don't like the interior of the Zetec. Too many small fiddly buttons and a small screen on the centre console that look like they were designed a decade ago.

You are not restricted to vw on pcp with vw bank when trading up after 3 years.

You can start a new pcp on a new car with another brand if needed.

If I were you, since you are planning to keep the car for so long, id get a 150hp highline passat. Much better for overtaking on the motorway way and less stress on the engine when cruising due to the extra torque.
