Hi, can somebody give me any advice on the following. Just last week I signed for and took home a used car through car finance. Over the last couple of days I've been finding that this particular car isn't really what I'm looking for. If I wanted to do a u-turn on the finance and return the car, am I covered by the statutory 10-day cooling off period? I've read that some dealers get you to waive this by signing something, but this was not mentioned to me at any stage during the purchase. Any advice is greatly appreciated particularly as I don't want to leave things to late to do anything!

You would normally have signed a waiver to the cooling off period as part of the standard documents. Otherwise they hold the car till the cooling off period is over.

You still bought the car though, so would still need to pay for it some way.

I'd bet my bottom dollar you signed a waiver. Otherwise free car rental for ten days, I'll have some of that!
