The Euro R is a different kettle of fish to the Type S 2.4. The Euro R is the JDM performance model of the Accord range that was sold in Europe. Sort of a spiritual successor to the original Accord Type R except a little less raw.

The Type S with the 2.4 litre engine is an Australian spec model that had the same 2.4 litre engine that was briefly offered in Europe plus the body kit from the regular Type S. Performance wise it's nothing special especially compared to to the Euro R so really depends on what you want.

The type S 2.4 is 190 bhp not sure about the euro r but I imagine e it's a bit more anyway and would be a more raw sort of car that's the type s that's mainly just kit and stuff.

That's a cl7 euro r. The engine is a K20 vtec that has 220bhp. Absolutely fantastic all rounder. Fast, reliable, relatively economical, subtle and by far the best seats I've ever had in any car. Had mine back a few years ago and still miss it now! With the choice you have there, it's an absolute no brainer to go for the cl7.

would typeS 2.4 too slow to compare with R?

I wouldnt mind paying 6k if the car was at least 05 or 06 somthing like that. but the one i saw was 03 and for that 6k? feel like too much.

Will you get 220bhp out of them running on the unleaded sold here? I thought running on 95 RON would reduce the bhp a bit.

    Probably do run lower.

When I was in Ballymena they had a Civic Type R that's suppose to put out 200bhp, put down only 184bhp on the dyno.

There was a 3 MPS there that did the opposite, suppose be 256bhp, put out 259hp, ( that thing sounded like an animal )

Yeah true Bazz, probably closer to 200 on the 95 octane. Excellent all round car I have to say. The 2.4 wouldn't be particularly slow I don't think. Definitely more torque than the euro r but other than that they are a different animal altogether. Drive both, rev both beyond 6000 and then come back with feedback :-)

alrite lads. its been some time since i wrote here. Euro R i wanted so badly i never bought coz this one guy on donedeal didnt go a bit down on price so i thought and thoughtttt. i eventually ended up buying 2.2.D would say i really regret thou. still i want the Euro R. I would show u my horse but i dono how to upload pic here. i doing here up. in two minds about remap. well lads. been on jap sites. I'm really thinkin to import Euro R. if anyone has had bad experience share with us plz. much appriciated any help

You won't import a Euro R cheaper than you will buy one here.

I don't see why the year bothers you. On a car like a CL7, it doesn't reflect the value whatsoever. They are not going to drop in price any time soon.

As above, not a hope in importing a CL7 Euro R cheaper than whats for sale on donedeal, 03's can easily make 10k by the time you would land one from Japan. The same goes for any performance orientated Honda from Japan, they all hold value and make big money at auction in Japan.
