Do I need to book a solemnised?

    Hi

Me and my partner have our appointment in the civil registration office next week and I was just going through what we need to bring along with us.

I saw that we need to give the name of the proposed solemniser? Do they require me to pick someone from the list of solemnisers or is this something I should actually book myself?

Little confused on this one, do I need to contact a solemniser myself to find out if they are available or do the registration office look after all of that?

    Thanks

If you're planning on getting married in the registry, then you won't need to pick one.

If you're planning on having your own legal ceremony outside of the registry office, then you'll need to pick your own solemniser and contact them to arrange the ceremony.

Ohh I suppose it depends, are ye having a civil ceremony as such for the wedding. Or are ye going to sign the register and then have a different type of ceremony.

I know as such we had out venue picked and wanted the ceremony there but the civil ceremony and she just told us who would be available..
