Software for Creating Electrical Plan for House

    Hello,

    I want to create an electrical plan for my new build, i.e. where the sockets etc will be positioned ! Hoping my engineer can then use my plan in the creation of the real plan.

    Has anyone done this before with special software ? google hasn't turned up much ...

    You have a plan layout ? Just sketch on what you want as regards electrics, it might take a few goes to get it neat but sure how much time will you waste looking / learning a software package

    im pretty much resigned to doing that BryanF ! i was just hoping there was some easy to use software :-)

    A schematic wiring, try www,digikey.com.
    Some extra info for you.....A house wiring electrician will not take kindly to you telling him how to do his job.

    thanks, but it not really looking at creating a schematic wiring diagram, i just want a tool to show my electrician where to put network sockets, power sockets and lights

    It can be useful to walk the rooms and chalk mark points onto the walls. You can imagine your furniture set up and then locate power , tv, room thermostat, lightswitch, etc.

    Do it first yourself and afterwards ask the electricain to review beacuse he will have ideas you won't think of.

    Agree everything on site mark onto a print of the layouts scan and copy for records.
