My significantly better half was saying how she'd love a bowl of sugar puffs earlier and trying to be the best fella in her life, I went looking for a box.

Supervalu, Dunnes and Tesco all failed me. Does anyone know where you can get this cereal of old?

they arent made by kellogs, that might be your problem.
Excuse me shopkeep, can I have a box of your kellogs sugar puffs?
sorry mr customer, we dont stock them.

Im sure they are made by quakers and that they are available still, and in all those places? unless something has gone awry since my annual box last year.

    From Wikipedia:
In 2014 the product was re-branded to Honey Monster Puffs, and its recipe changed to have 8% less sugar and 20% more honey

    :confused::confused::confused:

Honey = sugar. So they removed 8% of sugar, then added 20% sugar, so they've just increased the sugar by 12% by my calculations.

Its probably that cheap honey, which isnt actually honey but syrup, which is all sugar.
That said, they are one of the cereals I love but rarely have, they are chock full of some kind of sugar, I could get high off them and float off to nevernever land, they are delicious drenched in milk.
I think the honey monster is hyped up on something too, probably all that sugar.

wiki has links to the info source.
Although the cereal’s recipe will be changed along with its name, sugar is still a major component, with content falling by less than 1g from 9.3g to 8.6g per portion.

The recipe will also include 20 per cent more honey, according to Halo foods, which owns the rights to the brand.

according to tesco it is 8.7g/portion which is 29% sugar.
    http://www.tesco.ie/groceries/Product/Details/?id=262386867

bran flakes are 20%, special k 17%, crunchy nut cornflakes 35%.

Sugar puffs were definitley about 50% sugar at one time. Seeing old posts bran flakes were 22%

They 20% more of the honey itself, but not 8% of the total content.
Most likely there was very little honey to begin with, so this 20% increase is smaller than 8% of the much larger sugar content.

Eg, sugar has dropped from 30g to 27.6g, and honey is up from 1 to 1.2g
    (numbers are completely made up)
