the big chair in the left photo is annoying me, i didnt get out of my seat, just took a few snaps really. nice coffee shop!!

I just wanted to ask you about your process flow and your treatment of your shots, I always recognise them as your work and really like what you do - very nice :)

hi! thats nice of you to say , thanks for asking me about this cork girl , :)

The background behind this is at the moment i only have a 50mm lens so i borrowed a 28mm today and stopped to get a coffee here because im doing a shoot in the morning, i was sat waiting for my coffee and the flowers in the sun on the tables caught my eye, so i just took a few snaps without really thinking about it. I tend to snap away before checking my settings then change them if i need to.
I decided to put a few together just for my facebook page so didnt spend alot of time on it.

I use presets alot of the time in Lightroom and tweak them to suit. I like the matt look and at the moment i want my photos to be nice and bright, warm looking but not too yellowy, and not too instagrammy vintage looking. Im a fan of interior magazines and wedding blogs like style me pretty and try to go for that kind of look. So this was imported into lightroom and worked on there, i did the collage in photoshop and then exported.

After i did the collage i realised the 2 images on the left and right arent the same width, and also i wished id got out of my seat because the chair is very distracting. I thought id get photos of the flowers tomorrow anyway so left them but theyd be nicer in the photo on the right hand side.

hopefully ive answered anything you might be thinking about!!!
ive added a screengrab of my settings in lr, if it helps.

I don't know, Looking at the legs of the chairs in the background it could have gotten very busy with crisscrossing lines and patterns under the table distracting from the clean image above. I think the chair is probably better than no chair would have been.

Thank you - great reply :) Really nice treatment for these, it really enhances the original and I like how you've structured the collage too. I'm not a Lightroom user but thank you for adding the screengrab, it does help!

It's always fascinating to get a glimpse of someone else's process, thanks for sharing!

I think the shots have a wonderful sense of nostalgia about them, like something from a 50s diner. What's that word that means nostalgia for a time that you never experienced? Is it Halcyon?

it is! thanks, :) i like seeing everyone elses behind the scenes i guess youd say, might be a good learning tool as well to get a thread going more often . if i see a c&c i always look at it first when i log on.
