Stopping Rent Allowance

I am in receipt of rent allowance - it has increased recently as I lost other benefits (LP). Now my partner and I are discussing moving in together and would no longer need rent allowance - he has his own place.

Just wondering if we do how I go about stopping it and would there be a barage of questions from the SW?

Put it in writing to your cwo. Don't forget to put your PPSN DOB and address on the letter keep a photocopy snd send it by registered post.
If uou move in with your partner you will have to inform the section that pays you . Yes there will be questions and your payment may be affected.
Once again you may write as above

If you've lost your other benefits the only question you should be asked is what date you'll be moving in with your partner to avoid being overpaid rent allowance & proof of new address which you'd need anyway for child benefit.

Naturally if you're going to apply for a jobseeker's payment you'd be subject to that application process, so you wouldn't have to go through anything that every other applicant doesn't have to.

If you've nothing to hide then you've nothing to fear - just be truthful as regards dates etc & you shouldn't have any major problems.

I wont be applying for any other benefits - I wouldn't qualify for anything else so it would simply be a case of giving them the date that we move in together I guess.

That should be it then - your circumstances will be changing & you'll no longer require state aid. Just inform them that you want to close your claim because of this.
