have a question here that am having trouble getting the right answer for
I´m coming back home to Ireland after being away 15 years, reasonably rough last few years work wise and family health wise to makes sense to come back and help out
I´ve been in and out of various jobs, worked a lot of cash in hand jobs and the last few years been getting by on odd jobs here and there and living off savings whilst trying to get things back on track.
I want to go self employed at home, have an idea and the energy to pursue it.
How do I explain this to revenue as I really dont have a lot of paperwork behind me however have also not been resident in Ireland for well over a decade

I don't see what the issue is: you come back here and set up and away you go.

In passing: why self employed rather than a limited company if you have an idea and want to pursue it?

Maybe take some advice on the pros and cons first.

The tax filing is done on ROS.ie and the company accounts are done online via https://core.cro.ie for 20 euro per annum.
    https://www.cro.ie will help as well.
    Good luck
