    Hi All
can anyone recommend a cycle shop in town or southside where you get sound advice on what cycle shorts to buy. I'll probably spend in the region €40/50, but wouldn't mind some good honest on advice on which pair to go with, as honestly I don't have a clue and I am sure there are several technologies out there claiming to be the best!

I'll be slated for this for not supporting the local stores, but I use wiggle every time, good reviews on there to help you decide. The bike stores are just too overpriced and don't have the range. Wiggle offer a good returns service. Try the DHB brand, good price Vs Quality.

Can't disagree with jon1981 - online is best as far as selection and price goes.

But if you're new to cycling, it's probably worth more to you to be able to chat to someone in the LBS.
The guys in cycle superstore out in Tallaght have always been helpful when I've been in there. And they have a decent selection of Bicycle Line stuff which is usually decent.

    bib, without a doubt

For me, bibs all the way, I have both, and discarded the shorts. Bibs keep everything in place, stops the shorts slipping down, feel secure.

Bib to avoid embarrassing slippages and the waist digging in.

I have these for short 1-2 hour spins

    and these for longer spins

the number of reviews and stars on the site speak for itself.

there's a Q&A section for each product on Wiggle, there are some posters with waist 34 saying that Medium is a good fit. Though height plays a part too, spend some time reading the reviews and Q&A, it should help.

great to support lbs but they most often will have odd range when it comes to clothing or lack of sizes etc.. so definively i would recommend online, and +1 on DHB for commute to 100Km rides

    How long was the delivery?

Need them for the weekend but think I might be too late.
    Thanks

That's were I find chainreactioncycles.com trumps Wiggle, Chainreaction offer next day delivery. At best Wiggle offer 4 day priority. Maybe is varies by the amount you are ordering... i dunno. I have received Wiggle goods inside 3 days but also have waited up 6/7 days by standard mail.
