Of corse you can do that. It's your money at the end of the day. If you are flexible you could get a great deal.

Also it doesn't have to be straight away after the wedding we are waiting till summer to head off. There's no set rules to what you want.

Your honeymoon doesn't have to be extravagant. My wife and I went to Cork for a few days. It was perfect! We were exhausted from the wedding and really wouldn't have enjoyed a lot of travelling.

IMO it's just about taking a few days together to wind down and soak it all in. I know a lot of couples use the opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime holiday, and that's great if you can afford it, but that's not what it's about and you shouldn't feel pressurised into that.

Have ye sat down and talked about what ye would like to do, kinda sounds like you haven't.. questions seems odd enough sure it is yer money ye can do what ye like with it as said..

Ye don't have to go on he honeymoon straight away either just go somewhere nice for a few days and relax..

I have had a few friends who have done this and the last one booked florida for 10 days and he loved it.

Slightly off topic here I am currently booking honeymoon me and the other half are debating weather to do the city break first (3 days Kuala Lumpar) and then the beach (10 days Bali) or vice versa. Anyone any helpful advice?

I would do the beach part first. You will probably be wrecked after the wedding and will just want to relax.
