Got an active sub off a friend as a present a couple of weeks back, nothing special just an Edge EDB10A from halfords, but halfords are looking for 60 quid to fit it. Have an aftermarket stereo in the car already, was wondering how much a decent mechanic should charge to fit it?

Thats not bad if they do a tidy job. They will have to run rca cable and cable to switch on amp from head unit to amp and sub in boot . They will also have to run power cables from battery to sub.
It can take a bit of time taking off panels and getting them back on properly down the left hand side of the car .Ive done it myself

Id say a mechanic or professional installer will cost the same or more.
It is fairly easy to do if you are competent.
