Staff Parking Tallaght Hospital?

    Hi all,

Would anyone know the parking arrangements and cost per day for staff parking at Tallaght Hospital? I'm on the verge of applying for a position and just figuring out the cost of my commute (from Sallins) and parking.

Also, any advice on what time I would need to leave Sallins to begin work at 8am? I currently start at 10.30 and get there in 20-25 mins.

    Thank you.

I worked there a few years ago, and staff parking on-site was a complete nightmare. Even if you did find a free slot, there was a strong likelihood that you'd be blocked in on your return. If you were really lucky there'd be a piece of paper under the wiper with a number to call the owner to (eventually) move it. If not you were just out of luck.

I don't know whether they still do it, but when I was there they had an arrangement with an underground car park very nearby in The Exchange where you got a heavily discounted daily rate if you flashed your ID card when paying.

I don't know about the public transport options, sorry.

Thanks for that info. Yes, Exchange Hall is where I have been parking up until now, but that was free as it was in a volunteer capacity. Sounds like a tricky situation.

I imagine travel times will vary quite a bit. Especially between summer and winter and schools on/off.

To get from Sallisn to Tallaght by 8am suggests getting a train to Heuston and then a tram.

From Naas, you can get Bus Éireann route 126 (possibly others) http://www.buseireann.ie/inner.php?id=247#Kildare I think some services go via Tallaght, but otherwise change at Red Cow to Luas.

or Dublin Coach route 726 http://www.dublincoach.ie/timetables-fares/dublin-coach-routes.php change at Red Cow to Luas.

or Kenneallys route 736 (run by Kavanaghs) http://jjkavanagh.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Route-736-from-Waterford-to-Airport-and-from-Airport-to-Waterford.pdf change at Red Cow to Luas.

It is €100 to park for the year. You have to choose a carpark to park in when signing up. The options are: there are 2 surface carparks on the hospital grounds which are very difficult to get a space in, or the top floor of the multi-storey carpark, not the easiest carpark to navigate, or exchange hall which although a bit of a walk from the hospital you are pretty much guaranteed to find a space easily.
