These could be totally the wrong style (and they're veeery expensive) but my friend who's roughly the same size and age wore 2 Ann Balon outfits for her son's wedding recently and reckoned they were worth every penny (she paid around €400 for one and £50 for the other on Ebay). A few of the outfits have sleeves on the top/dress, all have jackets, and there's a couple of outfits with trousers rather than skirts.

Thanks dee. Some of those are very long. She's hoping not to spend more than €250 - €300 so they'd be out of range. She's also not into buying online but I'm just looking for some ideas so we can visit a few places with some things in mind. Thanks though.

Monsoon do lovely occasion wear (and have a sale on at the moment!) If you have a store near you, I'd definitely go in and have a look.

Here's their occasion wear page - there's some beautiful (and completely non frumpy) outfits there! :)
